Faulkners Light in August - Style :: Light August Essays

Light in August - Style   Section 6, opening passage: Realizes recollects accepts a passage in a major since quite a while ago distorted virus resounding structure of dim red block sootbleakened by a larger number of fireplaces than its own, set in a grassless cinderstrewnpacked compound encompassed by smoking manufacturing plant purlieus and encased by a ten foot steel-and-wire fence like a prison or a zoo, where in arbitrary inconsistent floods, with sparrowlike childtrebling, vagrants in indistinguishable and uniform blue denim all through recalling however in knowing consistent as the somber dividers, the grim windows where in downpour ash from the yearly adjacenting stacks streaked like blacktears.   Faulkner's style may give you inconvenience from the outset due to (1) his utilization of since quite a while ago, tangled, and here and there ungrammatical sentences, for example, the one just cited; (2) his dullness (for instance, depressing in the sentence just cited); and (3) his utilization of paradoxical expressions, that is, mixes of opposing or confused words (for instance, frictionsmooth, slow and unwieldy run, merry, irritable voice). Individuals who detest Faulkner consider this to be as thoughtless. However Faulkner revamped and modified Light in August ordinarily to get the last book precisely how he would have preferred it. His style is a result of keen consideration, not of scurry. Editors once in a while misconstrued Faulkner's goals and made what they thought were minor changes. As of late researchers have arranged a release of Light in August that reestablishes the creator's unique content as precisely as could be expected under the circumstances. This Book Note dep ends on that Library of America version (1985), altered by Noel Polk and Joseph Blotner.   In a portion of his increasingly troublesome entries, Faulkner is utilizing the method called continuous flow. Pioneered by the Irish author James Joyce, the most extraordinary variants of this gadget give the peruser direct access to the full substance of the characters' psyches, anyway befuddled, divided, and even opposing those substance might be.   In any case, Faulkner builds up his own, progressively organized assortment of continuous flow. In his densest passages, he frequently lets his characters fall into dreams in which they see more profoundly than their cognizant personalities could. His characters associate at various times and think about the significance of occasions and on the connections between them in a way that sounds more like Faulkner himself than like the characters in their typical perspectives.

Effects Of The Internet On Travel Agencies Tourism Essay

Impacts Of The Internet On Travel Agencies Tourism Essay The web has given chances to explorers to book their movement legitimately online accordingly going around the customary travel channels for example travel offices. These days even carriers have begun urging voyagers to book tickets straightforwardly on their sites in this way abstaining from paying 10% commission to the trip specialists. Hence it has made it a critical requirement for customary trip specialists to discover new techniques and methodologies to remain in business (Yamanouchi, 2004). While filling in as a delegate channel among voyagers and travel specialist co-ops, what the web has done is to kill the pertinence of the customary go-between (trip specialists) or in any event make that conventional job altogether different in todays practice (Taylor, 2003). Today, would-be voyagers can organize their own movement by booking directly from the suppliers themselves by means of the web (Law, Leung Wong, 2004). Online travel sites pretty much kills the requirement for customary go betweens, who as Law, Leung Wong (2004) notes; are questionably very nearly eradication. Web intercession may at last lead to disintermediation of movement organizations since the movement administration and item suppliers can sell their administrations and items straightforwardly to the movement demographic. However, the web and its movement sites doesn't forecast just fate for the trip specialists. Trip specialists despite everything have the upside of offering customized types of assistance particularly in offering counsel to voyagers with an individual touch. This capacity to make administrations individual will ensure that the job of trip specialists stays secure. (Law, Leung, Wong, 2004). The web has become an appropriation divert in the movement business with the end goal that the job of customary mediators like trip specialists has likewise changed. However as opposed to be patients of the web, trip specialists have held onto the chance to utilize the web in their every day activities. Trip specialists are utilizing the web to showcase themselves and to promote their administrations. They are additionally offering a portion of their administrations on the web (Vrana, Zafiropoulos, 2004). The trip specialists themselves have thought that it was anything but difficult to make game plans and appointments over the web for their customers subsequently decreasing their operational expenses. The web reception among trip specialists has made their administrations progressively effective and convenient and increasing a solid methods for correspondence with their contacts and customers (Vrana, Zafiropoulos, 2004). Writing Review How Travel Agencies Take Advantages of the Internet and Avoid Its Negative Effects on Their Business Trip specialists are these days utilizing the technique of If you cannot beat them, go along with them. They have begun utilizing the web furthering their own potential benefit by utilizing the web to showcase their own administrations on the web and by reaching explorers through their own sites. They likewise offer types of assistance that movement locales can't offer like customized types of assistance and complex travel game plans and iteneries (Vrana, Zafiropoulos, 2004). Travel offices additionally these days center more around building enduring connections as opposed to attempting to augment their benefits. They do this by offering quality customized types of assistance. This is a technique received by most travel organizations in Japan (Zhang, 2004). By so doing, travel offices are today misusing the web openings, for example, temperance networks, to assemble what travel sites can't, customized associations with customers (Maurer, 2002). Along these lines, they can misuse the advantages that accompany the web, and abstain from losing their job in interceding travel, by making their administrations particularly customized. Trip specialists structure systems, make recently marked travel administrations, abuse the web to showcase themselves, get pro bundles and items disclosed by online organizations and try to give buyers serious arrangements on the off chance that they need to endure (Downes, Legg, 2006). Why People Book Over the Internet Clients basically book over the web since it is advantageous, cost sparing, and ingenious. It is increasingly available and more affordable. Explorers likewise can think about the different rates offered by various specialist co-ops and in this way settle on a substantially more educated decision. Online specialist organizations offer progressively serious rates and better limits because of the low operational expenses. Clients can likewise get to broad measure of data on the web. It is additionally exceptionally valuable for working experts who don't have the opportunity to proceed to meet trip specialists to make their movement arrangements when they can simply do their booking when they are busy working or at home (Heung, 2003). Clients likewise have the chances of studying the spots they are visiting from the web and along these lines ready to book inns on the web. The primary concern that one can make all courses of action required before going without including any middle person as long as the individual approaches web. The coming of web has additionally been combined with individuals procuring PCs and internet services in this manner carrying the innovation closer to the individuals (Lewis, Ira, Semeijn, Janjaap, Talalayevsky, Alexander, 1998). Why People Book with Travel Agents The primary reasons why clients book by means of trip specialists are the security concerns (Visa tricks), relational correspondence for example vis-à-vis exchanges, human contact in exchanges, and capacity to make specially crafted venture out bundles rather than by movement sites (Vrana, Zafiropoulos, 2004). Trip specialists can make all courses of action for their customers dissimilar to in movement sites for instance lodging appointments, touring appointments, air terminal drop and pickup, and flight tickets, something they probably won't have the option to or might come up short on an opportunity to do (Buhalis, Licata, 2002). Most customers who go to trip specialists are additionally the individuals who need to fabricate associations with their movement facilitators and the individuals who need the assurance of human component in exchanges (Cheyne, Downes, Legg, 2006). There are a few conditions where by clients are left without any decisions other than utilizing the specialists. This happens for the most part in circumstances whereby one needs to go through various goals. It is difficult to do a few online appointments when one is going as it implies managing a wide range of substances. At the point when one needs to go through various goals, it is simpler to utilize the worldwide specialists who have workplaces in better places the world over. By doing this one can manage one organization since he simply need to express their requests to the operator and every one of his needs will be dealt with. (The Travel Insider, 2010). Rehash Clients in Online Booking Clients will go to a similar site and online gateways or straightforwardly to specific specialist organizations utilizing the web if such suppliers have made brand name of items, manufactured worldwide showcasing, have lower cost because of limits, encourages work sparing methods and on the off chance that they have normalized procedures, items and administration conveyance (Vrana, Zafiropoulos, 2004). Improved assistance conveyance and serious site highlights are the fundamental progressing inclinations for online specialist organizations in Hong Kong (Chu, 2001). Another motivation behind why clients more than once utilize one online specialist co-op is that they were at first happy with the administration that was given and would prefer not to look into another overhauled supplier (Cheyne, Downes, Legg, 2006). Rehash Clients for a Travel Agent Clients chiefly over and over book by means of trip specialists because of the relationship that they have worked with that trip specialist (Vrana, Zafiropoulos, 2004). Along these lines trip specialists in Japan are utilizing this methodology of building enduring associations with clients to improve business instead of simply concentrating on expanding benefits by attempting to draw in more clients (Zhang, 2003). On the off chance that a client is happy with an itinerary item that a specific trip specialist has made for them they lean toward utilizing a similar trip specialist to make all their future itinerary items. In this manner offering great quality support additionally creates rehash customer base for trip specialists (Wyne et al., 2001). Socioeconomics Characteristics that Predetermine Online Booking and that of Travel Agency Booking The decision of web and trip specialist booking is impacted by sex, age, training, salary, and word related qualities of clients (Furr, Bon, 1998). Studies show that web appointments are essentially made by females matured somewhere in the range of 21 and 30, instructed and gaining high livelihoods and working in training related callings who lean toward business lodgings during movement and who transcendently like to go via air (Heung, 2003). Then again the socioeconomics of non-web trip specialist clients is for the most part hitched men going with families on a long excursion from medium procuring sections matured between 36 to 45 years. This is for the most part since when going with families trip specialists can give substantially more broad data on the kinds of inns and which sorts of lodgings offer specific kinds of administrations and furthermore they give data on the various sorts of touring choices and which one would suit the familys prerequisites best (Heung, 2003). Impacts of Airlines on Internet Bookings The business of movement organization includes correspondence and preparing data of its customers. At first, the offices approached subtleties of flights so the clients had no other option. The reality the carriers can do their promoting on the web and straightforwardly to the clients and the clients can apply for their movement tickets online has influenced the movement offices a great deal. It is additionally of fundamental significance to take note of that aircrafts have understood this pattern and have along these lines diminished admissions, as they no longer compensation the commissions they used to pay the operators (Bennett, Marion, Lai, Chi-Wen, Kevin, 2005). The clients needs have additionally changed fundamentally in their requests because of the advancement in IT since one can gain proficiency with all the exot

Data that are usually mandatory to write include as full name, phone number, e-mail, and address. As for additional information, don’t feel obliged to write something too private (such as personal or bank ID, marital status and similar) or something that will make you feel uncomfortable. You decide which data you want or do not want to include in your CV.One of the details that you need to pay special attention to is the e-mail address you list in your resume. Being an HR yourself, you probably roll your eyes when you see something inappropriate or silly instead of formal address. So, if that is what you would like the potential candidates to write, do it yourself as well. If you haven’t got an address that sounds profes sional and formal, well, create it. It takes just several minutes, but it makes a huge difference. Here’s a practical example:margaret.stevenson@gmail.com RightMaggie_Queen_777@gmail.com WrongThe same rule applies to your full name. What your future employer wants to know are your REAL full name, not nicknames, alias names, and pseudonyms. Those are huge no-nos for resumes, so avoid them at any cost or you risk being eliminated for sounding childish.Margaret Stevenson Right Maggie Stevenson WrongWhen it comes to the listing profession, if possible, avoid generic and broad expression. Since there are numerous fields and positions where HRs are required (trainee, assistant, manager, director), it’s important to be specific. Give the recruiter t a precise definition of your field of expertise. One of the options is to choose to write your actual profession, the subject you’ve graduated on or the topic of your master thesis. The other is to write the title from your previous job. If you have just graduated and have no experience, you can even write “entry-level” or “junior” in front of the main title (HR in this case). Here’s a practical example:Human resources assistant RightHuman resources WrongIf you consider adding a link to some social media to your resume, opt for LinkedIn.This represents an extension to your resume where the potential employers can get more information about you if your CV drew their attention.Do check out if the profile is up to date before including it on your resume. If the information from your resume and profile are not correspondent to each other, the effect will be the opposite and you will give the impression that you are not interested in the job. You don’t want that scenario, do you?THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO WRITE SUMMARY SECTION FOR HUMAN RESOURCES CVAs for the Summary section, the name itself already implies that this section represents a mini intro compiled of highlights from your work experience, education, an d skills. So, SUMMARIZE it the best way possible, but avoid writing poetry and descriptive essays. This segment must be precise and concise so that recruiters reading your resume can get a precise picture of who you are. You would ask your candidates the same if you were in recruiter’s position, wouldn’t you? When writing a summary, pay attention to the following:Be precise â€" Your summary should contain information that can be found in the rest of your resume, not something new. Of course, you could explain it in a bit different words, but still saying the same thing.Be reasonable â€" Adjust the intro to sound so to represent yourself the best possible way, but remain reasonable. To put things simply, if there’s no actual work experience or set of skills, you shouldn’t expect to be invited to the job. So, don’t lie, tell the truth, but if you don’t have the necessary qualification, even the best summary in the world won’t get you a job.Be interesting â€" Again, we are n ot inspiring you to write poetry (I mean, you can, but not in your resume), but make sure your CV doesn’t sound boring or the recruiter may fall asleep while reading it. It should consist of honest information but written in a reader-friendly manner. The three “Bes” are essential steps to follow regardless of which job position you are applying for. Rules are the same, and since they are simple, do your best to implement them all.An ideal summary, in terms of length, should consist of two or three sentences where you should point out your skillsets, experience and the place you graduated from. You can also include at least one reason why you are applying for this job.The main point is to catch attention, so you can arrange it as you wish as long as it does the job and fulfills the recommended criteria. The best way to explain is by using a practical example:SummaryHuman Resources Manager with 7+ years of experience assisting with and fulfilling staffing needs and requirements. T hanks to excellent communication and organizational skills, I initiated numerous project which improved the company’s productivity by 30%. Played a crucial role in the successful establishment of several new facilities. RightSummaryExperienced human resources. Communicational, organized. Looking for the job. WrongI’m sure that if you were to receive a resume form the “wrong” candidate, you would eliminate it after reading the first sentence.A dull summary is the fastest way to stray the recruiter’s attention away from your resume to another candidate. The “right” one is a bit longer, but still not too lengthy. Let’s say it’s well-balanced, just enough to give hints about a person.Yes, you can be  the most qualified candidate  for the advertised job, but if you don’t know how to spice things up a bit, the competition will beat you. Luckily we have the secret weapon you need to help you craft the best ever resume for human resources.SOUND LIKE A PRO WITH THESE ULT IMATE TRICKS ON THE EXPERIENCE SECTION FOR HR RESUME  Now that you know how to ace Summary section, the next crucial thing is learning how to arrange the Experience section. This section features key information about your previous experience and shows the recruiter if you are qualified for the job. Your previous experience also gives hints in which way you can contribute to the company you are applying for.If your experience reveals that you were a trustworthy and dedicated employee in previous companies youve worked for and there’s an adequate skill set to support that, you are halfway to getting the job. If you know how to arrange those, you’ve already got it.Jokes aside, but you can witness yourself that sometimes it is necessary to use some tricks and tips which will improve the look of your CV. It is necessary to know which words to use and how to describe things so that they attract the attention of job-givers.Competition can be cruel and merciless for entry-level candidat es because experience usually prevails. But, don’t be discouraged, because there are circumstances when a recruiter needs to choose between two candidates of the same skillset, education, and experience, and even the tiniest detail can make a huge difference. (And we have prepared a collection of such useful details to help you ace the HR CV.)When listing the previous position, add several bullets about how you’ve contributed to the company. Here’s an extra tip for you â€" to boost the chances, use numbers and percentages! They add some convincing tone to your employer giving the impression that you’ve made an impact on your previous job. But, have in mind that not all profession have measurable aspects, so don’t put numbers and percentages just for the sake of putting them, because they will look artificial.Focus on reality, analyze your experience well, and then find the way to articulate it as precisely as possible. Right WrongMany of us have done various jobs before we engaged in the field of our expertise.Even though that also counts as a useful experience, if you are applying for an HR manager in the company, it’s unnecessary to write that you have washed dishes in a restaurant while on the college. That has no importance for the job you are applying for.Even though “the more the better” makes sense on some occasions, this is not the case here. If you haven’t got any particular experience in the field, then it’s better to write that you are an entry-level candidate willing to learn than listing some part-time tasks just to make your CV look well-equipped.ACING THE EDUCATION SECTION IN HUMAN RESOURCES RESUME  When there are two candidates with equal experience and skill set, this section is the one to make the difference between the chosen one and the omitted one. Here are the super tricks to show you how to arrange this section and draw the recruiter’s attention.Education is important b ecause it shows the level of your knowledge and field of your expertise for the beginning. That’s why you need to arrange it well, describing all the details that can be valuable for the job you are applying for. Those include all the qualifications and skills, seminars, essays, workshops, lectures and similar.Again, make sure there’s a balance. Never list things for the sake of enlarging and boosting your CV, if what you plan to write are empty and meaningless words. List only something connected with the position you are applying for. Here’s what you can highlight in the Education section:The college, academy or online course you’ve graduated from.GPA scores if it is very high.Papers youve written, projects youve taken part in and seminars youve visited.Organizations and clubs you’ve joined. Right WrongYou know that HR’s job is a highly-dynamic and very challenging job, which requires constant learning and upgrading. That’s why you need to prove that you are THE RIGHT candidate for the job, to be given the opportunity to showcase your knowledge and skills, and we will show you the best way to achieve so.BEST EVER SKILLS TO INCLUDE IN THE SKILLS SECTION WHEN WRITING RESUME FOR HUMAN RESOURCESAs there are several types of the position of human resources, the skillset may be slightly different from one resume to another.Even though the duties you list may seem ordinary, it’s actually the way you express them that reveals how devoted you are to the job. the differences may be tiny, but to the recruiter, they are very meaningful. So, what you need to do is describe them as less generic as possible. It’s not easy, but just use common sense and you will manage it. The point of listing skills is to show the recruiter how efficient and proactive you are.Focus on the specific d emands for each of these positions.Think of adequate skills typical for the niche and describe them well and precise. HR positions are widely spread, so each field has some particular duties and assignments that require certain qualities.Try not to list mediocre skills, or if you cannot think of something specific, at least try writing the common ones in some original and creative way. Here’s what we mean: Right Wrong Pro TipSide note:If you are a “talented singer with breath-taking voice”, that’s excellent, congrats, but it won’t get you a job, not if you are applying for the HR position. With no intention to hurt your feelings, what we are trying to tell you is that you should only list the skills that are connected with HR profession, not some lovely trivia just because they sound cool.MOST WANTED TIPS AND TRICKS (FROM EXPERTS) FOR CREATING THE BEST HR RESUMELength of your resume â€" We told you, “the more the merrier” is not the case here. HRs haven’t got much time to check out all the CVs, so an optimal length is what will keep you safe from getting eliminated immediately. One page is ideal, two is still okay if there’s so much precious experience you want to mention. More than that can only result in elimination simply because it’s too long.Proofreading â€"Double-check what and how you wrote it all, because grammar errors, typos and similar are simply forbidden in the resume. After all, HR should be detail-oriented, and this is exactly the best way to showcase it. Grammatical errors can damage your credibility, and that’s probably the last thing you want. If you want to have the peace of your mind, send your resume to a proofreader.Reviewing â€"When you complete your resume revise it and, do it once again. Ask for a second opinion to make sure that your resume looks and sounds the right way. Independent opinion is always valuable and can get you a useful insight from some different perspective.Articulate â€" Knowing exactly how to articulate the information makes the difference between resumes (and candidates). Be clear and precise, otherwise, you will end up being misinterpreted. Your HR resume needs to be presentable of you are eager to get that job.Adapting your CV â€" If you have some spare time, prepare several different CVs for various positions. If not, at least try to adjust so that it matches the specific requirements. Different jo b positions require the different set of skills which is why CV should be personalized based on the advertised demands.Bulleting â€"Bullet points make your CV look well-organized and easy to read, which is the fastest way that the potential employer spots you. Don’t hesitate to use them, but try not to transform your resume into a battle of dots.Highlighting â€" This is an excellent emphasize keywords, and it can be combined with bullet points. The same rules apply here, don’t overuse this feature or the effect may be counter-productive. It’s not a sketchbook for coloring it’s a resume, a formal document which should look professional.Font â€"Handwritten-like fonts should be avoided in CVs. Yes, they are pretty and stylish, but unfortunately can be tricky to read, which is why Cambria, Helvetica, Calibri, Times New Roman, and similar are the best and the safest choice. They are neutral and are easy to read.Formatting â€" Have both physical and digital copy of your resume. In addition to this, provide a CV in different formats such as PDF and TXT because you never know which format does the recruiter prefer.E-Mail â€" Back then it was personally the boss using the phone to call the candidates to come to an interview but nowadays E-Mail serves for the purpose. Check it regularly so not to miss the chance or invitation to an interview.Resume template â€" Finally, the best tool to accommodate all the information is a handy and convenient template. I Felt Your Proposal Was Worth Considering - 886 Words

In reviewing your suggested app, â€Å"Security Alert,† I felt your proposal was worth considering. With forty-percent of surveyed Americans feeling unsafe walking at night, this app could aid in reducing the anxieties associated with this fear as you had pointed out in your proposition (Sadd, 2011). Furthermore, with three-fourths of surveyed parents stating that child abduction was a fear that they held and one-third of these parents admitting it was a worry that affected them frequently, this app could even further reduce anxieties (Bilich, n.d.). Consequently, decreasing the apprehension that one might feel. Therefore, this shrinking of one’s level of stress, could aid in the development of better physical and emotional health, therefore lessening the risk of developing other stress-related disorders (Nevid, 2015, p. 357). Moreover, â€Å"Security Alert† could prove to be a valuable parenting support, should an actual abduction occur, as the â€Å"Red† option would allow for faster response time as you had also pointed out. Rapid response is critical in the recovery of an abducted child, as seventy-four percent of slayings occur within the first three hours after abduction (Bilich, n.d.). Again, I foresee an app such as this being successful in providing security for its users, although I am not sure that disguising it as a security application would prove to be effective. Ultimately, the likelihood that an abductor would take the time to open the app is extremely low. In Wilfred Ownes Poem, Dulce et Decorum Est, He Attempts...

â€Å"Dulce et Decorum Est† by Wilfred Owen takes its title from the Latin phrase that means â€Å"It is sweet and becoming to die for one’s country†. Quite often the barbaric nature of war is over romanticized and the author uses this title satirically to mock the public’s deluded view of war. The poem graphically describes the hell soldiers have to endure in their everyday battle for survival. These are tragedies of war that only veterans can fully understand and Wilfred Owen tries to enlighten the general public of these tragedies through imagery and similes throughout his poem. The speaker lets the reader know right away about the reality of war. The invincible, fearless soldiers that are envisioned by the reader are quickly transformed into†¦show more content†¦Using the simile â€Å"like a man in fire or lime† (line 12) the author describe the torture being inflicted upon this man, â€Å"floundr’ing† (line 12) as if he w ere burring alive. Two lines later the dying soldier is said to drowning â€Å"under a green sea† (line 14), underlining his extreme pain and misery as he is described as drowning and being burned alive simultaneously. Since the soldiers could do nothing to help the dying man they â€Å"flung† (line 18) him behind a wagon. This shows how people are dehumanized in war and their lives are disposable and can simply be flung away to become another statistic. When the narrator says, â€Å"In all my dreams, before my helpless sight,† (line 15) it insinuates that all his dreams have been replaced by nightmares of the chilling memory of how he could not do anything to help his fellow soldier. He can only replay the horrific memory of the gas attack over and over inside his head. The reader cannot help but visualize this young soldier dying a slow, painful death. This emphasizes the sarcasm in the title. How can anyone glorify a death so horrible? The speaker finally addresses the reader by saying, â€Å"My friend, you would not tell with such high zest/ To children ardent for some desperate glory,/ The old Lie:/ Dulce et decorum est† (lines 25-28). The Latin phrase â€Å"Dulce et decorum est† is referred to as the â€Å"old lie†. The narrator bitterly believes that the people at home got him into this mess

Absolutism and Democracy Free Essays

What would happen if you got two different governments going head to head, fighting to see who is better? What if those two governments were Democracy and Absolutism? In the Seventeenth and Eighteenth centuries, they were both used, and one was more effective; But which one? In this time period, Absolutism was the best form of government, because it was effective and worked for the people. In an Absolutism government, or a Monarchy, it was believed the Kings worked with God, and He bestowed them with the power to be King. In Document Two, King James said, â€Å"Kings are not only God’s lieutenants upon earth†¦ But even by God himself they are called gods†¦Ã¢â‚¬ This is because the people believed Kings have powers similar to God’s. Related article: Political Parties Are Pillars of Democracy Kings used fear to gain control over the people, which is why they didn’t fight against it. Machiavelli wrote in The Prince that a prince needs to be feared by the people; Not loved and well liked. He would be incapable of being able to hold power over the people. If there wasn’t a King, then there would be no control in the government. People would be deciding everything for themselves, and it would end in disaster. The King/ Prince kept them in line, and the people didn’t revolt. â€Å"The head alone has the right to deliberate and decide, and the functions of all the other members consist only in carrying out the commands given to them†¦Ã¢â‚¬ King Louis XIV said that the King is the only person able to give the right orders, and make the right decisions. Everyone else was there to follow through on what he said. The interest of the state must come before the individual. The King was the only person capable of making sure the right decisions were made, and that the other members carried out the commands. So as you can see, Absolutism would win against Democracy in the Seventeenth and Eighteenth centuries. It was more efficient, and worked well for them. The Kings had the power, and everyone was content with how things were set up. The people felt like this was how it ought to be, and it was. That is why Absolutism is the best form of government in this time period. How to cite Absolutism and Democracy, Essay examples

My Appeal Letter for Kingsborough free essay sample

All through my last semester I was having difficulty hearing the professors lectures; this was true even when I sat close to the front of the room. Now know that the FM system is available to me, and if I am reinstated, I would most certainly avail myself of this device. It would be fair to say that access to that equipment would have a significant and positive effect on my academic performance. Another reason why my academic performance got so bad was the fact that I didnt get Financial Aid during the Fall 2008 semester, so I was not able to obtain my books as soon as I would have liked. As a result, I found myself having to catch up to the rest of the class. This obviously put me at a bit of a disadvantage. If am given another chance, would not foresee this as being an issue in the future. I will need to get As Bis to be in good academic standing. One thing that learned this semester which is worthy of note is that my failures have been a wake up call of sorts. I now know how to avoid the distractions that get in the way of me focusing on my school work. I can look at them objectively and then choose to exercise my good judgment. All ask is to please be given another opportunity to change things. Thank you for your kind attention to my case.
